Life with human rainbows

Our plan was to do our cocktail tonight in celebration of St. Patrick's day. My thoughts were on the Rainbow, because of it's wonderful connection to the 'pot of gold' and the luck of the Irish. I started to craft the cocktail on the way to work this morning, but by 10 am, I realized that I was indeed surrounded by the real thing - a group of human rainbows. I had the pleasure of spending the day with individuals who - like rainbows- had been tempered by the storms of life. Some would say they should be kept home, safe from the world and free from facing challenges that employment might bring. But the Sun of human determination shone on these people, and like the Rainbow, they bring something new and different to the daily sky. Developmentally and socially challenged, many would say they are anything but lucky. However, they find fortune in every small victory they have each day. Truly beautiful souls, full of light and joy. So tonight, let's toast to the hidden and unacknowledged rainbows that surround all of us. CHEERS FRIENDS
Recipe for 'Joy's Rainbow Maker'
1 oz Cherry Brandy
1 oz Midori
1 oz Blue Curacao
1 oz Galliano
Sprite
Pour Sprite into crushed ice filled glass.  Carefully pour each liquor into Sprite, trying not to mix together, going around the glass.
