New Year: 2012

It's 2012. Wow. Does this sound strange to anyone else? Perhaps it's the hype that has proceeded it, or just the fact that I was born near the middle of the last century - but at any rate -it feels like it's going to be an interesting year. Tonight, we kick off the Friday Night Cocktails for 2012 with a Perfect Martini, shaken hard. After all, what would life be without some noticeable tremors: Too perfect to enjoy. So here's to all of the adventures of 2012, CHEERS FRIENDS! (Oh, and thanks to our daughter Aubree Henderson for the cool Illini Gnome)
Recipe for 'Joy's Perfect Martini'
2 oz Grey Goose Vodka
1/2 oz of Dry Vermouth
1/2 oz of Sweet Vermouth
Blue Cheese stuffed olives
Fill two glasses with ice. Pour vodka and vermouth's into ice filled shaker.  Pour out ice from glasses. Splash vermouth around side of cold Martini glass.  Pour out excess.  Shake shaker very hard.  Strain into glass, but let some of the ice chips get in.  Garnish with 3 Blue Cheese stuffed olives.
