"V" is for.... Veteran. Voting. Vested.

On this Veteran's day, I wanted to share a bit about three words, all which begin with the letter 'V', and have a special significance on this day, November 11. Here in the United States, we use this day to recognize our Veterans of the Armed Services. Our Veterans are those men and women who voluntarily or by call of action gave up a portion of their freedom and livelihood to give service on our behalf.  For many of them, this resulted in a life-changing injury, and for others, the end of their lives. We honor them this day as a country, not because we have to.  We will not all be forced to go to a square to watch an armed parade, but rather just to pause for a moment to say thanks.  Thank you for fighting for freedom, and rights, not just those of Americans, but also for those throughout the world, most of whom will never say thank you.  one of which brings us to the next 'V' word, and that is....
"Voting":  Many of us voted this week and were given the free opportunity to express our desire for the ongoing direction of leadership for our country.  Voting doesn't always mean you get the outcome you want, but it does give you that one little moment of expression of an opinion, a slight empowerment comes over you as you make your small mark on the candidate or issue of your personal choice.  While you may not agree with all of the outcomes of the election, we should never relinquish or forgo the right to participate in the free election system of our country.  Yes, voting is one of the actions that supports our next 'V' word, and that is....
"Vested":  Yes, we are fully vested in the United States of America and the ideals for which it stands.  Regardless of the decisions our leadership make or the fear and loathing that may surround us post-election, we are sovereign citizens who are here for the long haul. We will not be silenced, and we will not be difficult, we will be citizens.  The old saying, "America, love it or leave it" is firmly set in our minds, and we have chosen to love it.  We will support doing what is right, good and true, for our families, ourselves and our fellow citizens.
So lift a glass with us as we toast tonight to Veterans, Voting and being Vested in our country.  We are drinking something I call the "It's all good" cocktail, and after a few, it will be!  CHEERS FRIENDS!

It's all good...

1 oz of Razzmatazz
1 oz of Gramma's Cherry Pie Moonshine
1 oz of Vodka
Mix together in a shaker.  Pour in a glass over ice.  Now, top with
Cherry 7-UP and a splash of Lemon Soda.
