What do you sprinkle in your coffee?

Ahhh, Monday morning.  Not always the favorite day of the week for those of us M-F/8-5'ers.  This one has an extra dent in it as it's the first full week post holidays.  Chris arose this morning saying, "It just hit me.  I have to work 5 days this week!  I wake up to the sound of the coffee grinder and now Eddy, tapping on my face to remind me he needs to go out.  Coffee and cold air helps certainly, but what can I sprinkle in my coffee to help give me the energy to not just be present, but excellent in my presence?

It's so easy to think about all of the wrinkles and bumps we will face as the week goes on which will require strengths that may not seem ready and willing as we open our eyes on Monday.  Perhaps it's the people we work with or the boss we answer to or the project that has to be finished - all elements that will challenge us this week - and we will have choice in how we address them.  Getting wrapped up in those thoughts on a Monday like this one finds us dragging ourselves into the starting line, or perhaps even jumping aggressively, both of which sap our energy.  It won't get us to the end of it with a smile, only a whimper.

This morning, I'm sprinkling some visionary thinking in my coffee.  I am choosing to have the vision to see the depressions and gaps in my week that require some Joy TLC to make better.  I will be busy finding these places and people, so it will be easier to address those other bumps and challenges around my way.  It's easy to miss the things around us and on our path that really need a boost or a helping hand.

It can be something as quiet as the person behind you in the check out line or next to you in the Doctor's office.  It might be the trash you pick up on the sidewalk, or the ice you scrape away on the entry to the office.  But these little things can make a big difference to someone else, someone you might never really know, and they may not acknowledge you .  It's not about the acknowledgement, it's about the vision.  The vision to see what only you can change in the little moment of time.  Happy Monday!
